To kick off this series, we are thrilled to highlight a classic from Cylent Beatz, a group that has made significant contributions to the AIC Records lineup. We will be focusing on their first release from The Colour of Musik EP. Champagne, which was originally launched in 2009, with the full EP following shortly thereafter in early 2010. Speaking with Daryl, he reminisced about the experience, saying, "This song was recorded in my Nan's house; it was my first proper set up. Well, I say proper, we made a booth out of four mattresses and a bookshelf. We stacked them up into a cube shape we could walk in and out of, and put a microphone in the middle. Remarkably, the recordings have lasted the test of time, and with the remasters recently taking place, they sound great. It's not our best song by far, but it is the beginning of an amazing era we had creating and releasing music, and because of that, it holds a special place in my heart for me".
